INTEMPERATA

The core of the ensemble consists of graduates from the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and co-founders of the Academy of Early Music Association, which brings together musicians specializing in historically informed performance practices. Several members also serve as faculty at the Department of Harpsichord, Organ, and Early Music at the Bydgoszcz Academy. Furthermore, the ensemble includes a rotating roster of instrumentalists, depending on the current repertoire. Individual musicians are associated with numerous cultural institutions throughout Poland, maintaining extensive artistic and pedagogical activities.

The ensemble’s diverse repertoire encompasses both well-known Baroque masterpieces and rarely performed works, which are received with great enthusiasm during concerts. Polish music holds a special place in their repertoire. This interest resulted, among others, in the CD Gościniec/Alta Via, released in 2018, featuring recorded works by A. Jarzębski, M. Mielczewski, and S.S. Szarzyński. The ensemble offers various unique concert programs, such as “Il Ciel e la Terra” featuring madrigals by C. Monteverdi, or “The Gardens of Versailles” – a fictionalized vocal-instrumental performance based on 17th and 18th-century French music, incorporating elements of Baroque dance.
