Piotr Jędrzejczyk
Composer, conductor, lecturer at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk, and editor at PWM Edition (Polskie Wydawnictwo Muzyczne). He graduated with honors from the Academy of Music in Gdańsk in the composition class of Prof. Krzysztof Olczak (2017) and the symphonic and operatic conducting class of Prof. Elżbieta Wiesztordt-Sulecińska (2019). In 2024, he earned his doctoral degree from the Academy of Music in Kraków.
Between 2015 and 2017, he served as the artistic director and conductor of the Gdynia Symphony Orchestra. His compositions have been performed at numerous prestigious festivals, including the Copenhagen Avantgarde Music Festival, Randspiele Festival (Berlin), Realtime – Internationales Festival Für Neue Musik Bremen, the “Poznań Musical Spring” International Festival of Contemporary Music, the “New Waves” Contemporary Music Festival, the Gdańsk Music Festival, and the International Viola Forum in Poznań, as well as at concerts both in Poland and abroad.
He is a laureate of several composition competitions, notably winning 1st prize at the National Composition Competition for a work for solo accordion or accordion and chamber ensemble (2014). He has received numerous awards and grants, including the Awards of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, the Scholarship of the Minister of Science and Higher Education, the Scholarship of the Marshal of the Pomorskie Voivodeship, and the Cultural Scholarship of the City of Gdańsk. In 2015, he was honored with the City of Gdańsk Award for Young Creators in the field of Culture, and in May 2016, he was a finalist in the “Czerwona Róża” (Red Rose) competition as the best student of the Academy of Music in Gdańsk.
