Ludzie z Vełny

Established in 2021 on the initiative of composer and percussionist Rafał Gorzycki, Ludzie z Vełny is the first contemporary music ensemble based in Bydgoszcz. Its primary mission is to commission, perform, and promote the latest Polish music, which, in the opinion of the founding artists, lacks sufficient support and presentation within the country.

The ensemble is composed of artists associated with the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, the Opera Nova in Bydgoszcz, the ART MINTAKA Polish Chamber Music Foundation, and the Ignacy Jan Paderewski Pomeranian Philharmonic:

  • Dorota Nowak – soprano
  • Joanna Czapińska – piano
  • Mateusz Szwankowski – clarinets
  • Tomasz Gluska – trumpets
  • Michał Edgar Kot – viola
  • Rafał Gorzycki – percussion, electronics
